A bonded warehouse is a secure warehouse where goods can be imported to the U.S. can be stored, assembled, etc without paying customs duties.


What is a bonded warehouse?

A bonded warehouse is a secure area where goods imported into the U.S. can be assembled, re-labeled, re-marked, manipulated, and stored without the payment of duty for up to 5 years from the date of import.

Any cleaning, repackaging, and sorting is subject to Customs approval.

There are 11 different types of bonded warehouses.
