The opportunity:

Flexport’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) team holds the responsibility of designing, developing, and maintaining systems that support all Flexport warehouses worldwide. Our team is dedicated to crafting exceptional solutions that simplify, streamline, and standardize warehouse operations, while still maintaining flexibility. We enthusiastically adopt the latest technologies to introduce automation where applicable, as we continuously strive to scale and drive quality and productivity enhancements. Be a part of the team helping to expand and deliver this service and help grow Flexport to be not only the top freight forwarder, but deliver a true global operating system for trade.

You Will: 

• Take point on complex product initiatives and run them to completion with minimal supervision.
• Develop, test, and maintain software solutions for warehouse management systems
• Work with the team to identify, design and implement new features and functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of new technologies
• Develop and maintain documentation for system design, coding standards, and testing procedures
• Geek out about shipping and logistics. (We do this often.)

You should have:

• 3+  years of experience writing software, and strong engineering background.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++
• The ability to convey technical ideas in common terms to business partners, product managers, designers, and engineers alike.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience in developing warehouse management systems or other supply chain software.
• Knowledge of logistics and inventory management.
• Cloud computing products such as AWS Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3 and etc.
• Experience with front-end web development technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
